Packers can’t just show up and win

The Green Bay Packers are finally getting a little respect, lets hope it doesn’t go to their heads. Granted, this is pretty much a meaningless game. The Packers could lose this game and still take over the top stop in the NFC with wins over Detroit and Dallas the next two weeks, but why not try to get a little breathing room and put some fear in the eyes of your opponents?

The Packers should go out today and blow away the Panthers, they are a much better team, but this is the NFL and the Panthers scare me a little. The Packers have been beaten by old quarterbacks before, Steve Beuerlein comes immediately to mind, Randall Cunningham is another. The game today hinges on the Packers’ defense not taking the Panthers lightly because Methuselah is starting at quarterback. They need to get after Carolina like they did Minnesota, if that happens the Packers win in a cakewalk.

I’ll say it’s somewhere in between. Packers 26, Panthers 13.
