The Green Bay Packers are about to be eliminated from the playoffs and we all have our opinions why. If I could be general manager for a day, this is what I would do.
I would make it clear to my head coach Mike McCarthy that defensive coordinator Bob Sanders is history. Give the job to Winston Moss with the understanding this is a four game job interview. If Mike doesn’t like it tough crap. The GM hired him and the GM will be the one to fire him.
Thankfully, number two on my list is no longer a problem as Derrick Frost was cut and cut bad. The Packers don’t have a clue who will punt for them next Sunday but we know whoever it is he will be at least as good and better be better. I say give the kid from Green Bay a shot. What do we have to lose?
Number three on my list is special teams coach Mike Stock. If Joe the Plumber wants the job, he’s got it. I know I could do better. I would at least tell my players to tackle the opposing ball carrier. So you can book two tickets out of town right now. Mr. McCarthy can choose who wants to replace Stock but I better be in the loop.
Finally I would make it clear we didn’t pay $12 million to a decoy. Use Ryan Grant the way you should and we all be better off for it. If not, we’ll all be on the unemployment line soon.
If only…
