The Chicago Bears are playing up the underdog card more and more this week and because of that I am getting more worried by the minute. That strategy always seems to work as evidenced by the Packers’ last two wins.
This is the classic trap game. I think if the Packers win this one they will win it all. My main concern is Jay Cutler having a big game, which I think he is going to have. Cutler and Aaron Rodgers are friends and I think Cutler would love to end this media love affair with Rodgers once and for all.
While I originally thought this would be a close, low scoring game, I am now thinking the Packers are going to have to to light it up on offense to win it. I don’t know why but I think Cutler has a big game. If the Packers’ offense can do the same against the Bears’ defense this might be a shoot-out like the game the Bears and Jets played earlier this season in Chicago.
Even I have to admit Cutler is better than I thought he was. He even has been pretty cool with the media this week. When all is said and done either Aaron Rodgers or Jay Cutler will be the next big thing. The loser will be that guy who can’t win the big one.
The new Packernet is feeling better as the week goes on. Unlike the way I felt going into the 2007 NFC Championship game against a red hot New York Giants when I was worried all week, I do think we can win this game. Confidence is pretty high.
The Packers-Bears’ rivalry now is like the old Packers-Bucs games. Defense, defense, defense. But could this be another shoot-out? I’m leaning that way right now. It seems when two great offenses meet it is a boring game but when two great defenses meet it is shoot-out.
I will have my prediction tomorrow. Packers v Bears.
Go Pack!
