It’s the Packers and Bears at Soldier Field, the oldest rivalry in the NFL. For the second year in a row both the Packers and Bears are Super Bowl contenders, I didn’t do my research but I can venture to guess that you could count on one hand how many times both teams were in the playoffs the same year.
It is usually one team is good and the other bad, but since the Packers have had only two losing records since 1991 the Packers have gained a lot of ground in this series. Brett Favre owned the Bears and simply made Soldier Field his own playground. Thanks mostly to Favre the Packers lead the all-time series in Soldier Field 20-19.
Lately, however, the Bears have been a pain in the you-know-what. Even though the Packers have won five of the last seven meetings, they have all been dogfights that went down to the wire. I expect today to be no different even though I really think the Packers have the far superior team. The only position I think the Bears might be better at is linebacker with Urlacher and Briggs. Matt Forte is good but is he a receiver or a running back?
The Bears will make this a brawl but I’m going to go with the superior talent and pick the Packers to win 24-23. Not for the faint of heart.
