Aaron Rodgers talked this week about not believing in the old theory of peaking too early. With the challenge facing the Packers the next two weeks, that might not be a problem. In fact, it could turn ugly in a hurry.
The Minnesota Vikings have won two out of three games and are a different team than the one the Packers blew out 42-10 on October 2nd. In fact, in the three games after that debacle the Vikings only gave up 47 points combined. This is not the same defense the Packers shredded last month.
If the Packers win they have what will certainly be hosting the most hyped game of the year next Sunday against the New England Patriots. Could the Packers be preparing more for the Patriots than they are for the Vikings? Even McCarthy mentioned earlier this week that overconfidence is a concern.
Just for the record, the last time The Hoodie visited Green Bay the Patriots won 35-0. Granted that was Mike McCarthy’s first year as head coach and Brett Favre got hurt. Rodgers was four out of 12 for 32 yards.
Myself, I’m worried about both overconfidence and the Vikings’ defense. Not ready to make a pick yet. You’ll have to come back tomorrow for my one-hundred-thousand star Packers’ lock of the week. Free of charge.
