Are you kidding me? After hearing nothing but glowing reports about how great Jordy Nelson was doing in his rehab he reports to camp with a bad knee, only this time it’s the other knee. Great.
Reports are Nelson has patella tendinitis from overcompensating for his surgically repaired knee. Really? How is that possible? I thought players with injuries were allowed contact with the team in the off-season, if so, how could the Packers’ doctors allow that to happen? Makes me wonder.
Yes, surgery won’t be necessary but tendinitis can linger for months. While nobody will admit it, I think this for sure means Nelson won’t the same player he was in 2014, and at his age, may never be again. This is exactly the kind of setback he couldn’t afford to have.
Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come. The Packers just can’t catch a break on the injury front and this is ominous start to the 2016 season.
