The Green Bay Packers are about to embark on the 2016 NFL season and I don’t think anybody has a clue what this team will put on the field. The Packers’ were average at best last year but will have Jordy Nelson back and might have a tight end threat in Jared Cook.
Based on last year and what I have seen in the preseason this year, laying your money on casino slots might bring a larger return on investment then betting on the Packers to win the Super Bowl.
With that said, here is my take on the Packers’ season.
At Jacksonville 9/11 – At first take one would think this is an easy win for the Packers. I haven’t see anything this preseason to make me think the Packers’ offense will be any better this year and the Jags’ defense is really good. Jags announce their presence with authority by upsetting the Packers (0-1).
At Minnesota 9/18 – For me the injury to Teddy Bridgewater doesn’t change a whole lot, I don’t think he is that great to begin with. Sam Bradford or whoever, the Packers will roll this week (1-1).
Detroit 9/25 – No way I can see the Lions beating the Packers in Lambeau two years in a row, Packers roll again (2-1).
New York Giants 10/9 – The Packers seem to struggle against the Giants and this will probably be more of the same. Giants win a squeaker (2-2).
Dallas 10/16 – With no Tony Romo the Cowboys just aren’t the same, Packers shouldn’t have any trouble here (3-2).
Chicago 10/20 – Packers will get some payback for losing to the Bears at home last November (4-2).
At Atlanta 10/30 – The Falcons are average at best and shouldn’t pose much of a problem for the Packers (5-2).
Indianapolis 11/6 – The Colts should be back to being the Colts with Andrew Luck back under center. They will have the Packers’ attention and I expect an excellent game on both sides with the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers winning the duel in the end (6-2).
At Tennessee 11/13 – The Titans are going to be much improved this year and they will be fired up to prove it against one of the NFC’s best teams. Titans give the Packers a wake up call (6-3).
At Washington 11/20 – The Redskins will be seeking revenge for their home playoff loss to the Packers last year. The feeling here is they get it (6-4).
At Philadelphia 11/28 – The Packers will bounce back after two losses to beat a woeful Eagles team that will probably be starting a rookie quarterback by then (7-4).
Houston 12/4 – J.J. Watt and company come to Lambeau to find a Packers’ team ready to roll after a three game road trip. Easy win (8-4).
Seattle 12/11 – The Seahawks deliver a blow to the Packers’ hopes of home field advantage in the playoffs, setting up a possible return to Seattle in January (8-5).
At Chicago 12/16 – All is well in Lambeau South and the Packers start their push to a division title with an easy win over the fading Bears (9-5).
Minnesota 12/24 – An early Christmas present for the Packers who will clinch the division by beating the Vikings (10-5).
At Detroit 1/1 – Brett Hundley gets the start as the Packers rest their starters for the playoffs. Lions sneak it out at home (10-6).
The Packers will win the division and probably one home playoff game, but I can’t see them beating the Panthers, Seahawks or Cardinals on the road. Looks like another divisional round playoff loss for the Packers.
