Week 6 will see the Green Bay Packers welcome the Dallas Cowboys in a highly anticipated match-up. The Packers are coming off a victory over the New York Giants and the Cowboys off a win over the Bengals. Dallas is currently under fire for what they are going to do at the quarterback position once Tony Romo returns. The Packers have their own issues to deal with in order to win key match-ups and take advantage of a tough Dallas team.
Green Bay’s secondary remains unstable for this week’s game. Sam Shields and Damarious Randall were both forced to sit out against the Giants. The secondary held Odell Beckham Jr. at bay until the final minutes of the 4th quarter. While Odell hauled in a pass only Odell could, the Cowboys also have a big target that can pose a problem at any given portion of a game: Dez Bryant. Bryant has had a few calls go against him in contests against Green Bay. He won’t soon forget these shortcomings and will be poised for a big game against this banged up secondary. Young talent will again have to prevail to secure victory. Improved health from Randall and Shields would create a little breathing room for the defense.
The offensive attack is another portion that still must improve. Aaron Rodgers wasn’t spectacular against the Giants, but his efforts were enough to propel the team to a victory. The long-ball play that the team has lived off of for the last few years seems to be almost non-existent this season. The team is also getting themselves into too many 3rd down situations, adding pressure to too many shoulders. Eddie Lacy exited the game against the Giants, and his status remains up-in-the-air against Dallas this week. Combining the use of higher probability throws and routes will prove to be a key component in the Green Bay Packers Week 6 success.
