The Green Bay Packers aren’t exactly flying high, but they’re no doorknobs either. A win against the 4-1 Dallas Cowboys tomorrow would certainly elevate the Packers’ status in the NFC and also give them home field advantage over the team I believe will win the NFC East division title.
To do so, the Packers will have to win with an offense that has been questionable all season and may not have a running back available. Eddie Lacy is listed as questionable and James Starks is ruled out. The Packers’ made roster moves to elevate defensive lineman Mike Pennel and cornerback Demetri Goodson to the active roster, but have not addressed the running back position yet.
The Packers’ defense is obviously going to be the determining factor in this game, and I think they will be up to the task. I know they haven’t faced a real threat at running back other than Adrian Peterson but they are playing sound run defense nonetheless. I think that will continue against Ezekiel Elliott and will force the Cowboys’ other rookie, QB Dak Prescott to win the game.
The Packers will be shorthanded on offense so they cannot afford to waste any scoring opportunities. I have a hunch they will get an interception return or kick return for a touchdown and that will be the difference in the game. Packers 23, Cowboys 20.
