There was a collective gasp heard around Wisconsin when word got out that the talks between Green Bay and Jared Cook broke down.
Contract talks between the Packers and free-agent TE Jared Cook have broken off, per source. Cook expected to visit other teams.

Turns out Cook felt his one good half year with his one good quarterback warranted a massive contract. The Packers felt their money could be better spent elsewhere… Like with one of the best tight ends in the NFL.
Ladies and gentleman, it is my great honor to present to you, the new addition to the Green Bay Packers family, Martellus Bennet!
The #Packers have signed TE Martellus Bennett! Welcome to Green Bay, @MartysaurusRex!

Bennett, 6’6 275 pounds, is all too familiar to the Green Bay Packers having played 3 years with rival Chicago Bears. Martellus racked up 208 receptions 2,114 yards and 14 touchdowns while with the Bears.
Benentt also played with the Cowboys, Giants, and most recently, the New England Patriots. In his 9 year career Bennett has caught over 400 balls for 4,287 yards and 30 touchdowns.
In his nine year career, Bennett played all 16 games in all but 3 seasons, only once did he miss more than 2 games.
With that, let’s bask in the glory of the newest addition to the Green Bay Packers.
It looks like Rodgers is at least excited about it….
