With a huge win under their belt in week one, the Green Bay Packers have a chance to take complete control of the National Football Conference two weeks into the season. Not to mention exact some revenge on the Atlanta Falcons after a pitiful performance in last year’s NFC Championship game.
This is not the same Packers’ team that got blown out in the ATL last January. The Packers were running on fumes when they hit Georgia last year. They had overcome a 4-6 record in the regular season to win the NFC North and beat the Giants and Cowboys in the playoffs. With an incredible amount of injuries to boot.
This year it is week two and the Packers are coming off what I think is a great win over the Seattle Seahawks to open the season. The only other team that can really challenge the Packers for home field advantage in the playoffs is the defending NFC champion Falcons. If the Packers can beat the Falcons Sunday it will be awfully hard for the Packers to not be the number one seed in the NFC come January.
While it may not be the General Sherman-esque rout the Packers put on the Falcons in 2010, it will most definitely be a minor payback for last years two losses in Atlanta.
Packers 31, Falcons 27.
