The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears kick off the 2019 NFL season in Chicago Thursday. If you are looking for offensive fireworks this is not the game for you. The Bears’ offense is just good enough to win games on the strength of a great defense. That defense could have a field day with a Packers offense that is playing its first game in a new scheme.
We have really no idea what the Packers is offense is going to look like, and going against a defense like the Bears likely won’t give us much of an answer. I do think the Packers’ defense will be improved over last year and isn’t facing a dynamic offense so they should be able to hold the Bears relatively in check.
So expect an early Bears surge, then low scoring after that. Bears 24, Packers 10.
