Well, so much for the peace, love, and gratitude of the new and improved Aaron Rodgers. Even the new Rodgers has a breaking point and yesterday it was breached. Dropped balls and wrong routes had Rodgers calling out his young receiving crew after practice. It was a little surprising since he had previously praised the youngsters and Romeo Doubs has been the star of training camp thus far.
Doubs’ trouble started last Friday night in San Francisco where he dropped two balls. One in which he was wide open and the other he let turn into an interception. There were a few others you could make the case should have been caught. Apparently it spread to the rest of crew. It was enough to cause Rodgers to meet with his young receivers before practice today. Apparently it worked as Wednesday was a much better practice for Doubs and Co.

Packers offense shaky so far
With the offseason trade of Davante Adams most analysts believe the Packers offense will struggle this year. I was on the opposite end, thinking they could be better with a more balanced attack. So far the offense has lagged behind the Packers’ defense and against the Saints in joint practices the last two days.
Veteran receivers Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins have been steady but there isn’t a real downfield threat there. Maybe Watkins can be that but the jury is still out on him. The offense will presumably revolve around running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, but it helps to have a downfield threat like the Packers had in Marquez Valdes-Scantling the last four years.
Maybe Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs or Samori Toure can be that threat, but they have to earn a spot on the field first.
