I know expectations are low for the Packers this year. I know it’s only week five of a long NFL season. But the Packers really need to win this game. And this is a winnable game for the Packers for all the reasons.
The Packers are coming off a butt-kicking at the hands of the Detroit Lions, which probably stings fans more than the players themselves. Nonetheless, the Packers are young and things could spiral rapidly if they don’t get back on track this week.
The Packers need to bring balance back to their offense. Aaron Jones has out the last three games and without him the Packers running game has been non-existent. I know he took some snaps last week but thanks to head coach Matt LaFleur’s idiotic pitch count he was a wasted game day roster spot.
If Lafleur grew a pair since last Sunday Jones could have a huge day against the Raiders, who, like the Packers, rank in the bottom third of the league against the run. This is a matchup of two pretty even teams, but I think the Packers have more upside the rest of the season. So I’ll take the Packers to bounce back and win 27-17.
