After two games against the NFC West the Packers close out the month with two games against the AFC South. It starts with the Houston Texans on Sunday in Lambeau and at the Jacksonville Jaguars October 27. It is essential the Packers get to 6-2. After the Jaguars the schedule gets significantly harder and significantly more prime time.
The Packers need to take care of the Texans first and that is no small task. The Texans are 5-1 with their only loss coming to the Vikings in Minnesota. They are also playing a second straight road game after beating the Patriots in New England last week. Injuries have taken their toll on them recently and today they ruled out five players for the game.
Because of those factors I think the Packers have a good chance to win this game, they are favored by three in some books. I think the Packers running game will be able to keep the Texans’ pass rush from teeing off on Jordan Love. I think they will get home a few times and I hope Love doesn’t pull another one of his bonehead throws when they do.
I’ll say the Packers play a clean game and the defense continues to improve with a strong performance against a good offense. Packers 27, Texans 23.
