Now that’s what I’m talking about!

The Green Bay Packers were facing an inferior opponent on their home turf with a playoff berth on the line. They did not disappoint. The Packers dominated the injury decimated New Orleans Saints 34-0 in front of festive crowd at Lambeau Field. Packers’ fans were quite bored in the second half, even doing the wave while the Packers had the ball. It took a stern warning from the PA announcer to quiet them down.

After racing to a 21-point first half lead the Packers played mostly time management in the second half. The Saints, lead by QB Spencer Rattler were no threat to the Packers whatsoever. The Saints were held to 196 yards of offense and they committed two turnovers. The Packers had 404 yards and scored over 30 points for the fifth straight week. The offense is clicking behind the running of Josh Jacobs and the improved play of Jordan Love.

It was just a great night in Lambeau. The kid next to me was attending his first game and what a great one it will be to remember. Wish I would have had a phone for my first game back in the 70s. I didn’t even have a ticket, me dad just pushed me through the turnstile and kept walking. I sat between him and his friend.

Anyway, I digress. It’s a short week and its the last chance for the Packers to get a win against a team ahead of them in the standings. The Vikings are suddenly the hottest team in the NFC and control their own fate. Two wins and they are division champions. It still blows my mind that the Packers have 11 wins and are in third place in their division. I can see the conference, but the division?

The best the Packers can do is the number five seed. They need to beat the Vikings to do it. LFG!
