Outcoached and outclassed once again

The Green Bay Packers are having a nice season. They have done some good things, Winning two games without Jordan Love, for instance, and they will end up with 12 wins after they dispatch the Bears next weekend. But there won’t be any cupcakes in the playoffs and the Packers haven’t beaten a good team all year. They sure as hell aren’t going to start doing so in the playoffs.

Against the Vikings today the Packers were once again exposed by a superior team. The Packers’ defense is a paper lion and the offense just simply lacks talent outside of Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs. Tucker Kraft is a first rate tight end but the receivers are so bad teams can take Kraft away with ease. What we saw today was the Vikings are loaded at receiver and were literally laughing at the Packers during the game today.

Sam Darnold has guys open on every play while Love is lucky if his check down is open. It wasn’t today. Love was horrible from the start. Didn’t look like he was even trying at times. I would love to see what he could do if he had the weapons the Vikings have, htough. But this is Green Bay and the rule in Green Bay is you do not draft offensive skill positions in the first round. Period.

LaFleur just doesn’t learn

The Packers played awful today. Jacobs fumbled on the opening drive and the defense couldn’t cover anybody once again. I could have thrown for 300 yards today against that secondary. And then you have a head coach who refuses to take points when he can get them. LaFleur passed up a chip shot field to go for it on fourth down and of course it failed. The fired up Vikings promptly marched down the field for an easy touchdown and the game was essentially over. It was all Vikings after that.

LaFleur will always win enough games to not get fired but he’ll never win a Super Bowl or even get back to the NFC Championship. He’s not a good in-game coach and should really just be an offensive coordinator. That was a ten point swing in a game the Packers ended up losing by two.

The Packers will bounce back and beat the Bears next week because everybody beats the Bears. But the season will end in two weeks against the same team the Packers opened the season with. This time it won’t be as close.
